What is the meaning of HID card?

Similar to RFID cards and proximity, the HID card also very simply ID card that follows the technology of proximity. Human Interface Device i.e HID, example of these cards are RFID cards and smart cards that use mostly for access control and other functions just like  other functions like public staff/employee and transportation ID.


HID cards are a type of access control card used for secure entry to buildings or restricted areas. HID stands for "HID Global Corporation," a company that specializes in secure identity solutions. These cards typically use radio frequency identification (RFID) technology or contactless smart card technology to grant access to authorized individuals. HID cards contain embedded information, such as a unique ID number or encrypted data, which is read by a card reader to determine access rights. They're commonly used in office buildings, educational institutions, government facilities, and other organizations where controlled access is important.
